August virtual Prayer meeting

Wycliffe Canada is continuing with the monthly online prayer on the second Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. MDT. The next meeting is scheduled for August 8, with prayer for Papua New Guinea. This is an opportunity to listen to the story of a couple who have worked with the Menya people since 1974, one year after they got married. The Menya New Testament was dedicated in 2018. They are now training PNG workers as consultants. Bible translation is so much more than a task. It is also a ministry that results in transformation by God’s Spirit and through the prayers of the Church. Please pray for more people to join us in this extraordinary prayer meeting. 8월 온라인 기도회

위클리프캐나다는 매월 둘째 주 토요일 오전 10시 (중부시간)에 온라인 기도 모임으로 모이는데 8월 8일에는 파푸아뉴기니를 위하여 기도할 예정입니다. 이번에는 한 신혼부부가 1974년에 파송을 받아 PNG맨야 부족을 위한 성경번역 사역을 시작하여 2018년에 맨야 부족어 신약성경을 봉헌하였고, 이제는 현지인 사역자들을 훈련시키는 번역 자문위원으로 일하고 있는 간증을 들을 수 있는 기회입니다. 성경 번역 사역은 단순한 과업 수행이 아니라 하나님의 성령과 교회의 기도를 통해 변혁을 일으키는 사역입니다. 영어로 진행되지만 전반부는 진행자와 현지인 사역자와의 대담 형식이고 후반부에는 소그룹으로 나뉘어 함께 기도하는 시간을 갖습니다. 한인 참가자들을 위하여 한국어 통번역을 제공하며, 한국어 소그룹 방을 만들어 우리말로 기도할 수 있습니다. 많은 분들이 동참하도록 기도해 주시고, 참여를 원하시는 분은 윤기태 선교사에게 연락 주십시오. daniel.yoon@wycliffe.ca

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)

“T” project: The virus continues to spread in the SRA region. It is predicted there could be over a million cases by the end of July in the country where these projects are located. Two-thirds of the population depends on day-to-day earnings, so strict lockdowns hurt the poorest people. Please pray for wisdom that is needed for the staff working in this project with many concerns on how to operate safely under limited status. Pray for the “T” leaders who are still trying to obtain the required government certification in order to receive foreign funds through their bank, but with offices closed and travel restricted, it’s impossible to move this process forward. This is an urgent need. Please continue to pray! There are still no believers in this language community. May God speak to many people in the “T” community during this time of disruption and anxiety.

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인상에 게시하지 말아주세요)

“T” 프로젝트: 코로나바이러스는 이 지역에서 계속 전파되고 이 나라에서는 7월말까지 100만건 이상이 발병할 것으로 예측됩니다. 인구의 3분의 2가 일용 근로자로 생계를 유지하는데 엄격한 봉쇄 조치는 가난한 사람들에게는 심각한 위협입니다. 이동이 제한된 상태에서 안전하게 사역을 감당할 방법을 고민하는 프로젝트 팀원들에게 하나님의 지혜주시기를 기도해주세요. 은행을 통해 해외 자금을 수령받기 위해서는 필요한 정부 인증을 받아야 하는데 관공서가 문을 닫고 이동이 제한돼 있어 거의 불가능한 상황이고, 긴급 중보 기도가 필요합니다. 이 언어 공동체에는 아직 신자가 없고 현재의 혼란과 염려가운데서도 'T' 공동체의 더 많은 사람들에게 하나님께서 말씀해 주시기를 손모아주세요.

God continues to provide: Kenya
Praise God that staff at Bible Translation and Literacy (BTL) were able to raise funds from their partnering institutions (churches, schools, universities and corporations) for the BTLannual fundraising Run. Even though the event itself was cancelled at the last minute because of COVID-19 containment measures, the income from this fundraising event was nearly equal to that of last year.

케냐 성경번역및 문해 협회 (BTL) 의 사역자들이 동역 단체들 (교회, 학교 재단및 기업) 을 통하여 BTL 년례 모금 행사를 감당할 수 있음에 감사드립니다. 행사는 코로나바이러스의 방역 조치로 인하여 마지막 단계에서 취소되었지만 그간 모아진 재정 수입은 작년과 거의 같은 규모로 모금이 되었습니다. 하나님을 찬송합니다.

Provision through partnerships: Thailand
Wycliffe Thai Foundation (WBTT) will help conduct The Journey in Bangkok, Thailand on 23 October. The Journey is a missions simulation training. Praise God for the partnership of WBTT with the Mitrejit Church. Pray for the Lord’s provision and preparation of the 40 facilitators needed for the workshop. Ask God to protect and prepare the WBTT staff travelling from Chiang Mai. Pray that the participants understand the life of a missionary and catch the vision to participate in mission work.

위클리프 태국 (WBTT) 은 10월 23일 “일일선교여행” (시뮬레이션 선교 훈련) 프로그램을 방콕에서 개최합니다. 이번 행사를 미트레지트 교회와의 파트너십으로 준비하게 됨을 찬양드립니다. 이번 행사에 필요한 조력자 40명을 주께서 예비주시도록, 행사 준비를 위하여 치앙마이에서 이동하는 사역자들을 보호해 주시도록, 참자가들이 선교사의 삶을 이해하고 선교에 동참할 수 있는 비전을 얻게되도록 기도해주세요.

Pray for CrossVenture leaders as they collaborate with the Maritime Services staff to conduct a pilot CrossVenture Coastal event at Fort Caswell later this month. Ask God to provide the resources needed for the event.
