Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea

Joseph and Joyce Park are doing their best in their ministry by attending various online meetings,  but they are still having a hard time making progress with the translation project because they can’t meet in person with the  translation team. Thankfully, the Parks received a reply from the team by boat-mail after moving to Alotau Centre in July, but they are still waiting for checking materials, including the drafts of John 1, 2, and 3. Please pray for the Kaninuwa team in the village (Soktes, Jack, Ravi, and Sylvester) and the Parks, so that they can have a deeper relationship with God at this difficult time. Pray that the Parks will soon receive the materials they need to check, including the drafts of John 1, 2 and 3. Pray also that the day will come when the lockdown is eased and the pandemic lessens so the Parks can work together again with the Kaninuwa translation team.

박 선교사 부부는 대유행병중에도 온라인으로 진행되는 여러 모임과 회의에 참석하며 사역에 최선을 다 하고 있지만, 여전히 현지인 사역자들의 이동이 자유롭지 못해 사역 진척에 어려움을 겪고 있습니다. 지난 7월에 알로타우 센터로 이동후 마을 번역팀으로 부터 한 차례의 회신을 받았지만, 요한 1, 2, 3서 초역을 비롯한 그동안 작업된 번역 자료들을 아직 기다리는 중입니다. 마을에 있는 번역팀 (속테스, 잭, 래비, 실버스터)과 박 선교사 부부가 이 힘든 시기에 하나님과 더욱 깊은 교제가 있도록, 요한 1, 2, 3서 초벌 번역등 박선교사 부부가 점검해야 할 자료들을 속히 전달받도록, 이동과 대유행병 사태가 완화되어 카니누와 번역가들과 함께 사역할 수 있는 날이 속히 오도록 기도해주세요.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)

Training institute: The rural area where the training institute is located has received extremely heavy monsoon rains over the past two months, and there is much damage. This crisis comes in addition to the pandemic, lockdown and the usual struggles of common people who are barely surviving. It has affected the language communities of some of the trainees who are currently studying at the institute. However, the Translation Track re-started on August 3rd and includes three courses — Semantics, Discourse Analysis, and Translation Principles. Please pray for God’s mercy on those who are suffering and for the provision of food, clean water, shelter, and the money needed to rebuild. Pray also that the students will be able to concentrate, understand and internalize the concepts being presented to them in the courses.

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인상에 게시하지 말아주세요)

언어문화연구소: 연구소가 위치한 시골지역에는 지난 두 달 동안 극심한 장마비가 내렸고 그로인한 피해가 큽니다. 이 위기에 더하여 대유행병과 봉쇄 그리고 간신히 살아남은 마을 사람들의 어려움은 이제 일상이 되었습니다. 현재 연구소에서 공부하고 있는 일부 훈련생들의 마을이 이러한 피해들을 겪고있습니다. 이 와중에도 번역 코스들은 8월 초순에 다시 시작되었고 의미론, 담론 분석, 번역 원리 등 3개 과정이 개강중입니다. 고통받는 이들에게 하나님의 자비와 식량과 깨끗한 식수, 피난처와 재건에 필요한 자금이 마련되기를, 또한 훈련생들이 코스에서 제시되는 개념을 집중하고 이해하며 잘 내면화할 수 있도록 기도해주세요.

Re-engaging with churches: Kenya
Praise God for the Kenyan Church and that many congregations and church leaders understand the importance of Bible translation. Thank him that many churches have continued to give financially to Bible Translation and Literacy (BTL) to support Bible translation even through the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Kenyan churches are now able to meet again by following government social distancing guidelines. Ask God to give worshippers safety. Pray that God will help BTL re-engage with churches. Pray for favour as BTL invites different churches to pray for and engage with a specific language community to enable Bible translation to take place in those communities.

많은 회중들과 교회 지도자들이 성경 번역의 중요성을 이해히고 있는 캐냐 교회를 인하여서 하나님을 찬송합니다.

많은 교회들이 코로나 대유행병의 어려움 중에도 성경번역을 후원하기 위해 성경번역과 문해사역 협회 (BTL) 에 지속적으로 재정 지원을 해 주심에 감사드립니다. 교회는 정부의 사회적 거리 두기 완화 방침에 따라 다시 모임을 가질 수 있게 되었습니다. 예배자들의 안전을 위해, 협회가 교회와 재협력할 수 있도록, 협회가 다른 교회들을 초청하여 한 특정 언어 공동체를 위해 기도하고 협력히므로 그 공동체에서도 성경번역 사역이 이루어질 수 있도록 손모아주세요.

Partnering in sign language translation: El Salvador 
TBLESSA (Traducción de la Biblia en Lengua de Señas Salvadoreña) is the name of the Salvadoran Sign Language Bible translation project. Miramonte Baptist Church, the Global Sign Languages Team of SIL, and Deaf Bible Society collaborate in this endeavour. The church is a Wycliffe Global Alliance organization and provides office space and services, accounting and administrative help. Other churches support the project with prayer. The translation team members represent a variety of Salvadoran churches. Pray for all who are involved in this translation project, and that the team will continue to make progress.

TBREASEA는 살바도르 수화 성경 번역 프로젝트의 명칭입니다. 미라몬테 침례교회, SIL의 글로벌 수화팀, 그리고 청각장애인 성서 공회의 공동협력으로 이루어낸 열매입니다. 미라몬테 교회는 위클리프국제연대의 한 지체로 사무 공간과 사역, 회계및 행정 지원을 제공받습니다. 다른 교회들은 기도로 이 프로젝트를 후원하며 번역팀원들은 다양한 살바도르 교회들을 대표합니다. 이 번역 프로젝트에 동참하는 모든 동역 단체들을 위해, 그리고 이 팀이 계속해서 성과를 이루어내도록 기도해주세요.
