Eastern Lawa Bible Translation

We are very thankful for the Eastern Lawa language project with which Wycliffe Canada decided to partner beginning in this current year. The small number of people on the Lawa Christian translation team have been working with Oral Bible Storytelling to share the gospel in their oral-tradition culture, in spite of ongoing persecution and various challenges. Recently, they translated 29 worship songs and some portions of the Bible. We thank God for the donation the London Korean Christian Church (Rev. Sung-Hwan Jang, senior pastor) made to commemorate their 50th anniversary. It was more meaningful as they collected this offering through their hand-writing Bible project. Please pray that more Canadian Korean churches will partner with the Lawa church.

'동부 라와' 부족어 성경번역

올 해부터 태국의 '동부 라와' 부족의 성경번역이 위클리프캐나다의 집중 협력 프로젝트로 선정되었음에 감사드립니다. 핍박과 계속되는 도전에도 하나님의 구원과 간섭의 역사를 체험하는 작은 믿음 공동체가 수 년 동안 이야기식 말씀 전도로 성경을 구전 문화에 맞게 나눠왔고, 이제 찬양곡과 성경 각권을 현지인 사역자들 중심으로 번역해 나가고 있습니다. 지난 주일에 런던한인교회(장성환 담임목사) 에서 50주년 기념 필사 행사 헌금으로 동부 라와 성경번역 프로젝트를 위한 선교헌금으로 드려주셨음에 감사드립니다! 계속해서 캐나다에서 더 많은 교회들이 라와 프로젝트에 동역할 수 있도록 기도해주세요.

Physical and spiritual peace: Central African Republic 
Praise God for peace and security in the Ngbugu Community Region. Life is returning to normal after almost three years of violence and conflict due to competing armed factions. Pray for the committee established to plan the launch of the New Testament in Ngbugu. They need wisdom, intelligence and provision as they promote the use of the Scriptures in 35 locations. Pray that many lives would be transformed and that many would experience shalom as they interact with God’s Word.

육체적, 영적 평화: 중앙아프리카공화국 
응부구 지역에 평화와 안전을 되찾은 것으로 인하여 하나님을 찬송합니다. 무장 세력들간의 알력으로 인하여 거의 3년 동안 폭력과 갈등끝에 일상의 삶으로 돌아오고 있습니다. 이 지역에서 신약 성경의 출간을 준비하며 설립된 위원회를 위해 기도해주세요. 35 개 마을에서 성경 활용을 장려하고 있는데 지혜와 총명 그리고 하나님의 공급하심이 필요합니다. 많은 이들의 삶이 변화되고 하나님의 말씀을 통한 평안을 경험하게 되도록 손모아주세요.

Peace in the midst of pain: Peru 
In the Apurímac region of Peru, AIDIA  is working to see communities transformed through the Word of God. As part of their strategy, they provide Scripture broadcasts on the radio. One woman shared the following: “I was in bad health and bedridden. I turned on my radio and heard the Word of God in Quechua. It reached my heart. I understood the Almighty God loved me and sent His Son to die for me. I began to listen to the radio program every night. No one preached to me. I found the Lord just by listening to His Word. Now I believe in Jesus and know He is my Savior. I know I will be with Him when I die because that is what He promises in His Word.” Praise God for the power of translated Scripture.

고통중의 평화: 페루

페루의 아푸리막 지역에서 아이디아(현지 사역단체)는 하나님의 말씀을 통해 변화된 공동체를 위해 노력하고 있습니다. 그 전략의 일환으로 라디오 성경 방송을 제공합니다. 어느 자매가 다음과 같이 간증했습니다. “저는 건강이 좋지 않아 병상에 누워있었습니다. 라디오를 켜서 케추아 모어로 하나님의 말씀을 들었는데, 그 말씀이 제 마음에 와 닿았습니다. 전능하신 하나님이 나를 사랑하시고 그 아들을 보내 나를 위해 죽으셨다는 것이 이해가 되었습니다. 저는 매일 밤 라디오 프로그램을 듣기 시작했지만 아무도 제게 설교는 하지 않았습니다. 저는 말씀을 듣는 것만으로도 주님을 찾았습니다. 이제 저는 예수님을 믿고 그분이 나의 구세주임을 압니다. 말씀을 통해 약속 하셨기에 나는 죽을 때에 주와 함께 거하게 될 것을 압니다.” 모어로 번역된 말씀의 능력을 찬양합니다.

Praise God that several JAARS-trained pilots who serve with YAJASI, our mission aviation partner in Indonesia, flew mercy flights to deliver medical supplies to clinics in remote villages which had received no supplies for several months.

인도네시아 항공 동역 단체인 야자시를 섬기는 몇몇 잘스 출신 조종사들이 몇 달 동안 아무런 공급도 받지 못한 오지 병원들에 의료용품을 전달하는 선교 운항을 잘 마쳐 하나님을 찬송합니다.

The Kiyaka translation team at our Bible translation partner in the Democratic Republic of the Congo needs sturdy vehicles to reach villages up to 621 miles from their home base. Ask God to help JAARS supply this need.
