Pray for Missionaries (7): travel

There are many ways to pray for missionaries and Bible translation. Perhaps God has placed a desire in your heart to pray for missionaries everywhere, or maybe for one particular missionary. Missionaries deal with many of the same stresses you face in life, like overwhelming workloads, sickness, and financial uncertainties. Often, however, missionaries struggle with these issues alone. Many missionaries travel frequently, both nationally and internationally. Their modes of transportation may vary from airplanes to buses, to canoes and motorbikes, and everything in between. Please pray for required permissions to be granted for travel (visas and passports) and for necessary funds for tickets and fees. Pray for protection and provision during travel. And also pray for God’s grace and favour when challenges or obstacles appear on any journey.

선교사들과 성경 번역을 위하여 여러 방법으로 기도할 수 있습니다. 아마도 하나님께서 만방에 흩어진 선교사들을 위하여, 아니면 어느 특정 선교사를 위하여 기도할 마음을 주실것입니다. 선교사들도 여러분의 삶가운데 만나는 동일한 스트레스, 과중한 일거리, 질병, 그리고 예상치 못하는 재정상의 어려움과 씨름해야합니다. 뿐만 아니라, 선교사들은 이러한 어려움들을 홀로 감당해야 할 때도 있습니다. 많은 선교사들이 국내외에서 자주 여행을 합니다. 교통수단은 항공편이나 버스, 카누와 오토바이등 상황에 따라 가능한 모든 교통편을 이용하게 됩니다. 여행에 필요한 허가증(비자및 여권등)과 티켓 및 여행 비용에 필요한 재정이 공급되도록, 여행중의 보호와 숙박문제가 해결되도록, 그리고 어떤 여정에서든 어려움이나 장애물을 만날 때 하나님의 은혜와 보호하심이 있도록 기도해주세요.

Proverbs brings transformation: Uzbekistan

A Northern Uzbek woman complained of her trouble marriage to her neighbor who is a follow of Jesus. She gave the woman a copy The Proverbs of Solomon. Most Uzbek consider Solomon to be a prophet, and respect his writings. The neighbor said “This is the Word of God. Read it and obey it.” The woman and her husband read through the booklet together and changed their lives. Now everyone in the neighborhood is eager to read the booklet and the Uzbek Bible too. Ask God to transform many more lives through these Scriptures.

잠언이 일으킨 변화: 우즈베키스탄

북 우즈벡의 한 여인이 예수를 믿는 이웃에게 자기의 결혼 생활에 대해 불평하자 그 이웃은 솔로몬의 잠언 한 권을 주며 이렇게 말했습니다. “이 책은 하나님의 말씀이예요. 읽고 순종하세요.” 대부분의 우즈벡 사람들은 솔로몬을 예언자로 인정하고 그의 글을 존중합니다. 이 여인은 남편과 함께 잠언 전체를 읽었고 이 부부의 삶이 변화되었습니다. 이제 그 마을 사람 모두가 잠언과 우즈벡 성경도 열심히 읽고 있습니다. 말씀을 통해 하나님께서 더 많은 영혼들을 변화시키시도록 손모아주세요.

Translating poetically: West Asia

The process of translating the Old Testament into a language of West Asia is just beginning. One member of the translation team recently learned about translating biblical poetry poetically. Same books of the Old Testament are written entirely in poetry. These Scriptures will speak more clearly to the hearts of the people when translated in a poetic style familiar to them. Pray for wisdom and inspiration for the translators to apply what was learned about poetic style to the new translation.

서아시아의 한 언어로 구약 번역이 이제 막 시작되었고 번역팀의 한 팀원이 성경적 시를 어떻게 시적으로 번역하는 지를 최근에 배웠습니다. 구약의 시가서들은 전체가 시로 되어 있는데 이 말씀들은 독자들에게 익숙한 시적 형식 으로 번역될 때 읽는 이의 가슴에 더 분명하게 와닿게 됩니다. 번역자들에게 지혜와 영감을 주셔서 배운대로 시적 형식에 잘 맞게 새로 잘 번역할 수 있도록 기도해주세요.
