At the beginning of a new year, we pray that all of our resolutions and expectations will be aligned to God’s mission and will fulfill His purpose for each one of us. The Korean Ministries team will continue to serve local churches to help them grow as healthy churches and live out His mission in their communities. We thank you for partnering with us, the Korean Diaspora team, in all these endeavors with prayers, finances and talents. We ask for God’s abundant blessings on you and in your life.

L and C: Bible translation in A country in Asia / Return assignment

Before they go back to the mission field, L. and C. will travel to the U.S. and Korea for a time of partnership development. Please pray that God will bring them faithful partners for the Bible translation ministries for the Z people in A country, through their PD trip to the U.S. this week. Re C’s visa application, they decided to do it in Korea instead as there are some more positive options. Please keep her visa application in your prayers with their trips in the coming months.

L and C 선교사가 귀임하기 전에 미국과 한국을 들려 동역관계 개발을 하게 됩니다. 여정을 도우시고, 이번 주 미국 방문을 통해 좋은 동역이 활발히 일어나도록 손모아주세요. C 선교사의 비자 문제를 여러 가지로 고려한 결과 한국에서 신청하기로 했습니다. 비자 발급과 여행에 어려움이 없도록 기도해주세요.

Flooding in Jakarta: Indonesia

Heavy rains since New Year’s Eve caused severe flooding displacing more than 60,000 people and killed at least 30 in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. The majority of the affected population relocated to shelters according to the Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management while others remained to guard their flooded homes. The Kartidaya office located in Jakarta and some staff and their families experienced flooding but are safe. Pray that the rains will stop and the floods subside soon. Ask God for healing for those who are grieving and those whose homes and properties have been destroyed.

자카르다의 홍수: 인도네시아

지난 년말부터 내린 폭우로 6만 명 이상의 이재민이 발생했고 인도네시아 수도 자카르타에서는 최소 30명이 사망했습니다. 인도네시아 국가재난관리위원회에 따르면 피해 인구의 대다수가 임시 대피소로 이동했으며 다른 사람들은 침수된 집을 지키기 위해 남아 있습니다. 자카르타에 위치한 카르티야 (위클리프 자매단체) 사무실, 일부 사역자들과 가족들은 홍수를 겪었지만 안전합니다. 비가 그치고 홍수가 곧 가라앉기를, 슬픔에 잠겨 있는 사람들과 집과 재산이 파괴된 사람들을 위해 하나님의 치유가 있도록 기도해주세요.

Destructive bushfires: Australia

Australia is experiencing the worst drought in history causing widespread bushfires that has left 17 dead and many missing in the central and southern coastal towns of New South Wales and a huge section of

North eastern Victoria. There has also been widespread destruction of homes and businesses. Ask God for His peace and comfort during this difficult time of loss and grief. Ask God to send rains to saturate the land and put an end to the drought. During this crucial time, pray for unity and wisdom as the government, other organizations and churches work together to provide help to those who need it. Wycliffe Australia located in Kangaroo Ground, Victoria and all the personnel and their families living the area are safe.

호주는 지금 뉴사우스웨일즈 중남부의 해안도시와 빅토리아주 북부의 대부분의 지역에서 17명이 사망하고 많은 사람들이 실종된 초대형 산불로 역사상 최악의 가뭄을 겪고 있습니다. 또한 집들과 사업체들의 파괴가 광범위하게 일어났는데, 상실과 슬픔의 이 어려운 상황에서 하나님의 평화와 위로가 있기를 기도해주세요. 비를 내려 땅을 흠뻑 적시므로 가뭄이 끝날 수 있도록, 이 어려운 때 정부와 다른 구호 단체들, 교회들이 도움이 필요한 사람들을 위해 함께 단결하고 지혜를 얻도록 기도해주세요. 빅토리아주 캥거루그라운드에 위치한 위클리프 호주 사무소의 사역자들과 그 가족들은 모두 안전합니다.

Pray for families who live outside their home culture, asking the Lord to give parents clear direction for the best schooling options for their children.

다른 문화권에서 사역하는 가정들, 하나님께서 그 자녀들을 위한 최상의 교육 선택권을 부모들이 분명히 알도록 기도해주세요.

Praise God for the opportunity to train over 100 people in Southeast Asia to use Scripture in their local languages to teach the book of Genesis. Pray for growing literacy skills in this people group.

동남아시아 지역에서 100명 이상의 사람들이 자기네 모어로 “성경 활용하기” 사역을 통하여 창세기를 가르칠 수 있는 기회를 갖게되어 하나님을 찬송합니다. 이 부족 그룹에서 문해 사역이 잘 진척되도록 손모아주세요.

The Mangali New Testament (Philippines) is revised and ready for recording by Faith Comes by Hearing. Pray Mangali speakers will be willing to travel to Tabuk for the recording.
