Joseph and Ju Hong: GBT Consultants for Church Engagement, Korea

Joseph is teaching as an adjunct professor at ARILAC (Asia Research Institute of Language and Culture). Please ask for God’s grace and wisdom on the Intercultural Communication course in August and the missiology course in the coming fall semester. Please pray that God will continuously guide the publication process of booklets on the Early Church between AD 100-300. Pray for the training with GBT (Camp Wycliffe) and other mission agencies (Life As Mission) so participants will feel and embrace God’s heart for world mission. Pray also for God’s protection over all the family members in different locations.

홍선교사가 한국성경번역선교회 (GBT)의 자매 단체인 아릴락(ARILAC: 아시아언어문화연구소)에서 겸임교수로 섬기는데, 8월에 있는 문화간 의사소통 강의와 이번 가을 학기에 있을 선교학 코스 준비와 진행이 순조롭게 진행되기를 기도해주세요. AD 100-300년 사이 초대교회에 관한 소책자 발간준비 과정에 하나님의 은혜를 구합니다. GBT 교회협력 사역팀과 함께 하는 훈련 (Camp Wycliffe)과 여러 선교단체들과 협력하는 선교적 삶 (Life As Missions) 훈련 강의를 통해 하나님의 마음을 잘 전할 수 있도록, 가족 모두를 하나님의 전능하신 손으로 보호해 주시도록 기도해주세요.

Cree Initiative: Kingfisher Lake Vacation Bible School

Praise the Lord! Our prayers and support were appreciated and God answered in wonderful ways. The Kingfisher Lake Oji-Cree vacation Bible school (VBS) was held the week of August 5-9 and it was done well. This is the third year that we have helped facilitate and conduct this “Scripture engagement” event. The topic they chose for this summer’s VBS was the Easter Story, which was woven into memory verses that remind us that even when life is hard, God is good, as the theme for the week. Please pray that all of the participants will be deeply impacted by what they learned and apply it to their lives, remembering that God is good.

크리 원주민 성경 번역 운동: 킹피셔 레이크 여름 성경 학교

할렐루야! 여러분의 중보와 후원에 감사드리며 하나님은 아주 멋진 방법으로 응답하셨음을 찬양합니다. 킹피셔 레이크 오지 크리 여름 성경학교는 지난 8월 5일부터 9일 주간에 열렸으며, 하나님의 은혜로 성료되었습니다.

원주민 공동체에 성경 활용을 위한 프로그램을 촉진하고 시행하도록 도움을 준 것이 올해로 3년째입니다. 이번 여름 성경 학교의 주제는 부활절이야기였는데, 삶이 힘들어도 하나님은 선하시다 라는 것을 상기하는 암송 구절들로 연결시켜 주었습니다. 모든 참가자들이 이번 행사를 통해 받은 감동들과 좋으신 하나님을 삶에 잘 적용하도록 기도해주세요.

Language cluster trainings: Southeast Asia

Training workshops will be held for translators involved in a six-language cluster project in Southeast Asia from August 5-23. Praise God for the finishes translation of the book of Luke and the audio recording of the JESUS Film. Pray for the 30 participants to have a deeper understanding of God and to share what they have learnt with their communities. The commitment and support from churches of different denominations helps Bible translation continue. Ask God for mutual encouragement and unity for the cluster team and churches. Pray for wisdom and guidance as the team leaders serve the cluster.

언어 군 형성을 위한 훈련: 동남 아시아

8월 5-23일에 동남 아시아에서 여섯 개 언어들를 묶어 진행하고 있는 번역팀을 위해 훈련 워크샵이 진행됩니다. 누가복음 번역과 예수 영화 녹음이 완성되게 하신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 30 명의 참석자들이 하나님에 대한 더 깊은 이해를 얻고, 배운 것을 마을 사람들과 잘 나누도록 기도해 주세요. 각기 다른 교단 교회들이 후원하고 헌신 하여 성경 번역 프로젝트가 진행되고 있는데, 번역팀과 교회들이 서로 격려하고 하나되도록, 언어 군을 섬기고 있는 팀 리더들에게 지혜와 인도하심이 있도록 기도해주세요.

New Testament recording and printing: South Asia

The audio visual team in South Asia will start the audio recording of a New Testament this month. Pray for the entire recording team that includes technicians, artists, proofreaders and voice actors. Thank God for the completion of typesetting and printing of two New Testament translations. Pray for the planning and coordination of the celebration events in October.

남 아시아의 오디오-비디오 팀이 이번 달에 신약 성경 녹음을 시작합니다. 기술자들, 예술가들, 교정 담당자들과 성우들를 포함하는 팀원 전체를 위해 기도해주세요. 신약 성경이 두 부족어로 번역되어 조판과 출판을 마치게 하신 하나님께 감사를 드립니다. 10월에 있을 봉헌식의 위한 계획과 준비를 위해서도 손모아주세요.
