박요섭 / 조선향 선교사: 파푸아뉴기니 카니누와족 성경번역

박 선교사 부부가 지난 1년간의 캐나다 본국 사역을 잘 마치고 임지인 파푸아뉴기니로 건강하게 돌아오게 하심에 감사드립니다. 현지의 사역 환경에 다시 잘 적응하도록 기도해 주세요. 9월 13일부터 알로타우 센터에서 카니누와 번역 사역자 팀과 요한계시록의 뒷부분 (12-22장) 초벌 번역을 함께 점검하고 수정할 예정입니다.모든 팀원들이 말씀을 성실하게 공부하면서 본문의 의미를 잘 전달할 수 있게 수정하도록 기도해 주시고, 9월 20일부터 두 주간 동안 진행되는 성경 주요 용어* 워크샵에 카니누와 팀이 참석할 예정인데 이번 워크샵을 통해 카니누와어로 성경 주요 용어들을 잘 정리하는 시간이 되도록 기도해 주세요. * http://wordlovers.ca/index.php?mid=kfboard&document_srl=17837

Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea (PNG)

We praise God that the Parks have returned to their field in Papua New Guinea in good health after a year of home assignment in Canada.
Please pray for the Parks as they reacclimate to the field environment smoothly. Since September 13, the Parks have been at the Alotau center with the Kaninuwa translators’ team to review and revise a draft of the second half of the Book of Revelation (chapters 12-22).
Pray for the team as they diligently study the Bible and revise to better convey the meaning of the text. Also, the Kaninuwa translation team will be attending a two-week Key Biblical Terms* workshop starting September 20.

한국어 카이로스 코스: 광역 토론토 지역

9월 19일부터 11월 7일까지 토론토영락교회에서 카이로스 코스가 열립니다. 매주 화요일 저녁 7:30~10시에 진행되며, 10월 28일(토)에는 오전 9시~오후 6시까지 종일 코스로 진행됩니다. 많은 분들이 동참하여 광역 토론토 지역과 아울러 캐나다 전역에서 계속해서 카이로스 코스를 통한 선교 동원 운동이 일어나도록, 참가자들과 교회가 더욱더 선교적인 삶 살게 되도록, 다른 조력자들과 함께 섬기는 이규준, 한진숙 선교사가 팀과 함께 섬기면서 성경 번역 선교의 비전도 함께 잘 나눠지도록 손 모아 주세요.

Korean Kairos Course: GTA (Greater Toronto Area)

The Korean Kairos course (GTA area) will be held at The Young Nak Church of Toronto. It runs from September 19 to November 7, every Tuesday evening and one full day on Saturday, October 28. Please pray that many people will be able to join and that, as a result, participants and their churches will be challenged to live missional lives. Pray too that the mission mobilization movement will continue through the use of the Kairos course in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). We covet your prayers for Gyoojun & Jinsook Lee and other facilitators that they might work well together. They desire to share the vision for Bible translation during the course.

실크로드의 기도 요청들은 보안 지역의 척박한 땅을 일구는 사역들을 중보하는 기도입니다. 사역팀이 지속 가능한 문해 사역과 교육 개발을 섬기며 매우 실질적인 방법으로 공동체를 사랑하는데, 이로써 사람들의 삶이 변화되고 주께 영광 돌리게 되리라 믿습니다.

K 프로젝트:
프로젝트의 다음 단계를 위한 상반기 재정조달 예산은 완료되었고 하반기는 이번 달에 마감됩니다. 프로젝트 사역자들과 인터넷이 잘 연결되도록 기도해 주세요.
다음 단계의 사역 계획을 논의하고 목표를 확정할 때 지혜와 단합을 위해 기도해 주시고, 필요한 자금이 잘 공급되도록 기도해 주세요. 6개 학교(공용어를 사용하는 공립 및 사립학교들)에서 26명의 10학년 학생들이 참가한 가운데 첫 번째 모어 글짓기 대회가 열렸습니다. 특수 알파벳 문자 사용에 대한 간단한 입문 교육을 받은 학생들은 글짓기를 하였고 두 명의 심사위원이 심사했습니다. 학생들과 학교 지도자들은 이 행사에 매우 열광했고, 학생들이 자기네 모어로 글을 쓰면서 창의적으로 표현하는 모습에 감탄했습니다. 이러한 행사가 모어 글쓰기를 확산하고, 모어 기초를 다지는 것부터 시작하여 다중언어 교육을 촉진하는 데 도움이 되도록 기도해 주세요.
공동체가 더 많은 열정을 갖고 맞춤법에 대해 더 많은 의견을 제시하고 있습니다. 좋은 토론과 지혜, 그리고 도움이 되는 결과가 나오도록, K 프로젝트에 하나님의 지혜와 은혜 주시기를 기도해 주세요.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)
The following prayer requests are prayers for the soil tilling efforts in this sensitive area. By serving the community in sustainable literacy and education development, the team is loving the community in very practical ways which pave the way for sustainable Bible translation work, which we believe the Lord will use to transform lives for His glory.
K Project: We completed the first half of the funding proposal for the next phase of the project. The second half is due this month. Pray for good Internet connections with project staff. Pray for wisdom and unity as we continue to discuss plans and finalize goals for the next phase. Pray that the needed funding will be provided. The first writing contest in the local language was held with 26 students (Grade 10) from six schools (public and private, all taught in the national language). With some introductory training in the use of special alphabet characters, these students produced stories that were then reviewed by two judges. The students and school leaders were very enthusiastic about the event and the creative expression that came through as students wrote in their own language. Pray that such events will help spread use of the mother tongue in written form and will help promote multilingual education, beginning with a good foundation in the mother tongue. The community is gaining more enthusiasm and giving more input on the orthography. Pray for good discussion, wisdom and helpful outcomes. Please ask for God’s wisdom and grace on the K project.

함께 일합시다: 솔로몬 제도

13개 동역 단체에서 모인 22명의 리더들이 6월 2-3일 솔로몬 제도 성경 포럼에 모여 서로의 단체들에 대해 나누고 협력을 다졌습니다. “함께 일합시다”라는 뜻의 “유미 와카 투게다”라는 주제로 모인 것은 이번이 처음입니다. 다양한 사역들을 통해 솔로몬 제도 사람들을 섬기기 위해 네트워크를 구축하고, 동역하며 서로 협력하는 동안 주께서 각 사역자들을 도우 시기를, 함께 연합하여 섬기기 위한 이 운동을 섬기고 있는 솔로몬 제도 번역 자문팀의 예레미야 선교사를 위해 기도해 주세요.

Let us work together: Solomon Islands

Twenty-two leaders from 13 partner organizations came together at the Bible Forum Solomon Islands gathering 2-3 June to share about their organizations and establish collaboration with one another.
This was the first time for such a gathering under the theme, Yumi waka tugeda, meaning “let us work together”.
Ask the Lord to help each one as they seek to network, partner, and collaborate to serve the people of Solomon Islands through their various ministries. Pray for Jeremiah Dauara, serving with the Solomon Islands Translation Advisory Group as he facilitates this initiative of serving together in unity.

성경 번역 및 성경 활용 위한 회의: 미주지역

라틴 아메리카의 성경 번역 및 성경 활용을 위한 지역 모임은 아메리카 대륙의 성경 번역 운동에 참여하는 국제연대 단체들, 동역 기관들, 교회와 사역 단체들의 지도자들로 구성된 소규모 그룹의 사람들이 진행하고 있습니다.
조력자 팀이 이 모임이 영향력 있게 기능하기 위한 핵심 요소입니다. 그러나 더 많은 훈련 받은 조력자들이 필요합니다.
10월 30일부터 11월 3일까지 콜롬비아 보고타에서 13 개국으로부터 온 35명의 조력자들을 위한 대면 오리엔테이션이 개최됩니다. 이 오리엔테이션이 진행될 수 있도록 재정을 마련해 주신 하나님께 감사드립니다.
모임별 협업 모델의 활용을 늘리는 데 도움이 될 오리엔테이션 자료를 잘 준비할 수 있도록, 이 모임을 인도할 진행자들과 훈련에 참가하는 이들을 위해 함께 기도해 주세요.

Facilitating Bible Translation and Scripture Use National Tables: Americas

The Bible Translation and Scripture Use National Tables in Latin America are facilitated by a small group of people who are leaders from Alliance organizations, partner organizations, churches, and ministries from the Bible translation movement in the Americas. Effective facilitators are key to ensuring that the national Tables function effectively. However, more trained facilitators are needed. From 30 October to 3 November an in-person orientation for 35 facilitators from 13 national tables will be held in Bogotá, Colombia. Thank God for the financial provision for this orientation to take place. Pray for the process in preparing all the material for the orientation which will help to expand use of the table collaboration model. Pray for those who will conduct the orientation and those receiving training.

하나님을 찬양합니다! 최근 라틴 아메리카에서 잘스팀이 인도한 수상 안전 교육에 참가했던 한 훈련생이 여행 중이던 상업용 선박이 전복되었을 때 잘스에서 습득한 기술을 사용하여 생존했습니다.

JAARS Prayerline

Pray people will be led by the Holy Spirit to support the mission of JAARS and that they will experience the joy of the Lord as they invest in His work.

Our Aviation department needs 75 new staff members in the next five years to meet all its projected field needs. Pray for God’s provision.

Praise God! Recently in Latin America, a trainee—who had attended a water safety course taught by a JAARS team—used her new skills to survive when a commercial boat she was traveling on capsized.
