Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea (1)

at the Ukarumpa Center, there are overflowing joy and gratefulness for God's grace as missionary families who have left the country due to the Corona situation returned to Papua New Guinea one by one. Joyce and Joseph are planning to fly to Alotau Center in early February and will work with two Kaninuwa translators arriving by boat from the village to produce Kaninuwa picture books for elementary students. Only elementary schools in Papua New Guinea (kindergarten and grades 1-2) have mother tongue language classes. In a village environment where online education is not possible, only three teachers (Garrison, Samuel, and Lia) have to teach over 130 children. Please pray for the village community to cooperate and have effective Mother tongue classes.

박요섭 / 조선향 선교사: 카니누와 부족 성경번역, 파푸아뉴기니 (1)

우까룸빠 센터에는 요즈음 코로나 상황으로 출국했던 선교사 가정들이 파푸아뉴기니로 다시 귀임함에 따라 하나님의 은혜에 기쁨과 감사가 넘치고 있습니다. 박 선교사 부부는 2월 초에 경비행기로 알로타우 센터로 가서 마을에서 배로 도착하는 2 명의 카니누와 번역사역자들을 만나 초등학생들을 위한 카니누와 그림책을 제작할 계획입니다. 파푸아뉴기니는 초등학교(유치부, 1-2학년)에서만 모어로 수업을 합니다. 온라인 교육이 불가능한 마을 환경에서 오로지 세 분의 선생님들(게리손, 사무엘, 리아)이 130여명 되는 아이들을 가르쳐야 합니다. 마을 공동체가 잘 협력하여 효과적인 모어 수업이 이루어지도록 기도해주세요.

February Virtual Prayer meeting: Thailand 

Wycliffe Canada is continuing with monthly online prayer on the second Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. MDT, February 13. This month, we will focus on the ministry of Wycliffe Thai Foundation and hearing from Wat, the Director. We would encourage you to invite anyone whom you sense would have an interest in praying for the ministry of Wycliffe Thai Foundation and its partnership with Wycliffe Canada and partnering churches in Canada. Please pray that many will participate in this prayer and see the more active partnership developed as a result.

Cree Initiative: Health, Naskapi

Continue to pray for good health and that Covid-19 would not enter the communities. Please pray for the communities where Covid-19 has entered. In mid-January, the test positivity rate was 21% among First Nations people in Manitoba, compared to 10% province wide.

Naskapi: Over the years, several in-person Naskapi language courses have been conducted to help people in Kawawachikamach improve their reading and writing and Naskapi language skills. The Naskapi Development Corporation Board of Directors has approved a virtual Naskapi language course for community members. This course is being conducted using Zoom. All Naskapi community members with access to the internet on a computer are invited to join in the course. Together, they will learn to read Naskapi better using Naskapi legends and the Naskapi Scriptures. They have started to meet once a week by Zoom. Please pray that the course is effective and enjoyable to the Naskapi participants and that it encourages them to engage with God's Word in their own language on a regular basis.

크리 원주민 성경 번역 운동: 의료, 나스카피

코로나 대유행병이 원주민 지역에서 더 이상 확산되지 않도록, 그리고 감염된 공동체는 속히 치유되도록 계속해서 기도해주세요. 1월 중순에 실시된 통계에 의하면, 매니토바 지역 원주민 확진율이 21%로 매니토바주 전체 평균 10 %에 비해서 상당히 높은 수치입니다.

나스카피: 지난 수년간 까와와치까맠 원주민들의 독해와 쓰기 그리고 나스카피 부족어 구사 능력을 향상시키기 위한 원주민 언어 강좌가 여러 차례 실시되었고 이제 나스카피개발조합 이사회는 원주민들을 위한 온라인 언어 코스의 개설을 승인했습니다. 이 코스는 줌으로 주 1회 모이고 있는데, 컴퓨터로 인테넷에 접속이 가능한 나스카피 주민들은 누구나 참여할 수 있습니다. 이를 통해, 나스카피 전통 성경과 하나님 말씀을 더 잘 읽는 법을 배우게 됩니다. 이번 강좌를 통하여 참가자들이 효과적이고 자원하여 참여하고 자기네 모어로 된 하나님의 말씀을 자주 잘 활용하므로 큰 격려가 되도록 기도해주세요.

Light in the darkness: Norway and South Asia
The Raja translation team works consistently – verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book. John, a Raja Mother Tongue speaker and translator, now living permanently in Norway, works alongside Norwegian consultants offering help with linguistics, translation and project management expertise. Praise God for the perseverance of the whole project team and successful milestones. A number of Gospels await publishing; Jonah and Ruth are both published and available to Raja speakers. Luke exists in print but can also be downloaded on a mobile app with both text and audio. Please pray particularly for: the impact on Raja speakers of the video animation of the Joseph story (based on the translated chapters of Genesis 37-50) and the final translation checks being made on Acts and Ephesians.

어둠 속의 빛: 노르웨이와 남아시아

라자 부족어 번역 팀은 구절별로, 장별로, 책별로 일관되게 작업하고 있습니다. 현재 노르웨이에 영구 거주중인 라자 모어 구사자이자 번역가인 존은 언어학, 번역및 프로젝트 관리 전문직으로 프로젝트를 돕는 노르웨이 자문위원들과 함께 섬기고 있습니다. 이 프로젝트 팀 전체의 끈기와 성공적인 이정표를 인해 하나님을 찬양합니다. 많은 복음서들이 출판을 기다리고 있고 요나서와 룻기 모두 출판되어 라자 부족들이 이용할 수 있습니다. 누가복음은 인쇄본도 있지만 문자와 오디오가 포함 된 모바일 앱으로도 다운로드 할 수 있습니다. 특별히 기도 부탁드리기는: 요셉 이야기(창세기 37-50장 번역본 기반)의 비디오 애니메이션이 라자 사람들에게 영향력을 끼치도록, 사도행전과 에베소서에 대한 최종 번역 점검이 잘 이루어지도록 기도해주세요. 

God Answers Prayer: Peru 
People in many places have been praying for the East Apurimac Quechua people and AIDIA during recent months. Praise the Lord that many members of the communities have been seeking the Lord during the COVID pandemic. One church in the area has baptized 11 new Christians. Church members believe that their church attendance will double in size when they are finally allowed to open their doors again. Thank God for Yesenia, an AIDIA member who has sold 1,714 Apurimac Quechua New Testaments during the past three months. She has also distributed countless numbers of digital devices and other Scripture materials. Pray that God would use these Scriptures to reach the people and to encourage them during these difficult times.

최근 몇 달 동안 여러 곳에서 많은 이들이 동아푸리맥 케추아 부족들과 에이디아 (현지사역단체)를 위해 기도해 왔습니다. 대유행병중 공동체의 많은 사람들이 주님을 찾게 되어 하나님을 찬송합니다. 한 교회는 11 명의 새신자들에게 침례를 베풀었고 교회가 다시 문을 열게되면 교회의 출석률이 두 배가 될 것이라고 믿고 있습니다. 지난 3 개월 동안 1,714 권의 케추아 신약 성경을 판매한 에이디아 회원 예세니아로 인해 감사를 드립니다. 그녀는 디지털 기기들과 각종 성경 자료들을 셀 수 없을 만큼 배포하기도 했습니다. 하나님께서 이 어려운 시기에 말씀을 통하여 사람들을 만나주시고 격려해 주시도록 손모아주세요.

The Solomon Islands Scripture Media Ministry team recently recorded a devotional series called “Every Day with God” in the Pidgin language for use in daily broadcasts on national and Christian radio stations. Pray the devotions will encourage and comfort listeners.

솔로몬제도 성경 미디어 사역팀은 최근 국내및 기독교 라디오 방송국들의 일일 편성으로 사용할 수 있도록 "하나님과 매일 동행하기"라는 묵상 시리즈 프로를 피진어로 녹음했습니다. 묵상을 통하여 청취자들이 격려받고 위로받도록 기도해주세요.

Pray for widespread outreach as the Ayta Mag-ansi JESUS film is shown during February and March in many Ayta villages with the help of Korean missionaries.

한인 선교사들의 도움으로 2월과 3월중에 여러 아이타 마을에서 아이타 마그안시 부족어 “예수” 영화가 상영되었는데 복음의 확장이 일어나도록 기도해주세요.
