Annual Scripture Celebration event

A world where translated Scriptures lead to transformed lives among people of all languages. On Saturday February 27, 2021 at 10 A.M. (MST) Wycliffe Bible Translators of Canada will be hosting our Annual Scripture Celebration, and you are invited! We’re excited to celebrate with you all that God has accomplished in the past year! About 2,000 languages remain that need translation work to begin. Please join us in giving glory to God for the milestones we’ve achieved together despite a global pandemic. Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)

K project: A writers' workshop was held in November with 13 K participants. Together they made some important decisions about how to write their language in ways that will work across the dialect variants. They wrote their own stories which are now being compiled and edited. This was timely, as the government schools will soon begin to teach K language as a subject and books will be needed. Praise God for the enthusiasm of this group and their eagerness to see more literature produced for their community. Pray that this might even open a door for some Scripture stories to be translated into K language. The project staff have been meeting with government agencies and providing the necessary documentation as they continue to seek approval to receive international funds to support their work. This has been a long journey! Please pray that the process goes smoothly and final approval is granted.

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인상에 게시하지 말아주세요)

K 프로젝트: 작년11월에 13명의 K언어권 참가자들과 함께 작가 워크숍이 열렸고 이 모임에서 방언 변형의 형식을 이용하여 자기네 모어를 쓰는 방법에 대하여 몇 가지 중요한 결정을 내렸습니다. 참가자들이 자기네들이 직접 쓴 이야기들을 모아 편집했는데 공립 학교들이 K 모어 과목으로 가르쳐야 하고 마침 교재가 필요할 때라 시기가 아주 적절했습니다. 자기네 언어 공동체를 위해 더 많은 문해 자료들을 만들려는 이들의 열정을 인하여 하나님을 찬양합니다. 이로 인하여 K 부족어로 번역되는 성경 이야기 프로젝트의 문이 열리도록 기도해주세요. 프로젝트 팀원들은 이 사역을 지원하는 외국 자금들을 후원받기 위한 절차를 추진하면서 정부 기관들과 회의를 하고 승인에 필요한 자료들을 제공해 왔습니다. 정말 긴 시간이었는데, 절차가 순조롭게 진척이 되어 최종 승인이 속히 이루어 지도록 손모아주세요.

Gospel of Luke in video: Australia
The Ngaanyatjarra people live in the Warburton Ranges area of Western Australia and across the border in Northern Territory. Thank God that they received a revised version of the Shorter Bible (The entire New Testament plus a portion of the Old Testament) in their language in 2008. Very few Ngaanyatjarra people can read and, therefore, they rely on audio recordings. Thank God for the work underway to produce the Gospel of Luke in video. Pray that through the video and audio Scriptures the gospel will be clearly understood, bringing salvation to all who hear. Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.” (NLT)

누가 복음 동영상: 호주

응가냐차라 부족들은 호주 서부 와버튼 레인지 지역과 북부 준주 경계에 거주합니다. 2008년에 자기네 부족어로 된 간이 성경전서 (신약 전서와 구약 일부)의 개정판을 갖게 된 것 감사드립니다. 극소수의 부족 사람만이 문자를 해독할 수 있기 때문에 대부분이 오디오 성경에 의존해 왔는데 이제 누가복음을 동영상으로 제작하는 사역이 진행중이라 하나님께 감사드립니다. 동영상과 오디오 성경을 통해 복음이 분명하게 이해되어 듣는 모든 이들이 구원을 얻도록 기도해주세요. “내가 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니 이 복음은 모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력이 됨이라 먼저는 유대인에게요 그리고 헬라인에게로다.” (로마서 1:16)

  
Translation held back by COVID: Angola, South Africa
The Kamukuio Cluster translation project in the southwest of Angola consists of three languages: Humbi, Kuvale, Kwandu. The project aims to produce an oral translation for each of the three languages. Wycliffe South Africa is currently the financial partner for the project and provides consulting and other services. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and limited internet access, the translation teams have had limited interaction with the translation consultant since the beginning of the current phase (phase 3) of the project. Please pray that the situation with COVID-19 would improve to allow the consultant to travel from Brazil (his home country) to Angola. Pray that the equipment procured for the team (recording devices and a new computer) would reach them soon, and that God would continue to protect the team and their families from COVID-19.

앙골라 남서부 카무쿠이오 언어권 번역 프로젝트는 험비, 쿠발레, 콴두등 세 부족어로 구성되며 이 프로젝트는 세 언어 각각에 대한 구전 번역을 만드는 것을 목표로 합니다. 위클리프남아공이 재정 동역 단체로 자문과 기타 사역들을 섬기고 있는데 대유행병과 제한된 인터넷 사정으로 인하여 프로젝트의 현단계 (3 단계)가 시작된 이후로 번역 컨설턴트와의 교신이 원활하지 못합니다. 대유행병의 상황이 속히 완화되어 자문위원의 본국인 브라질에서

Last year, many translation teams had to postpone New Testament dedications due to COVID-19. Pray for God’s guidance as they wait patiently, hoping to conduct their dedications in the New Year.
